The editor of US Weekly was on Fox News today attempting to defend the magazine's cover story on Sarah Palin.
The anchor said the magazine had mentioned Todd Palin's drunk driving arrest, and asked why US magazine didn't mention that it was more than two decades ago. The anchor also asked why US magazine, since it mentions the trooper controversy, didn't tell its readers that the trooper had tasered his young stepson and allegedly threatened Palin's father.
We didn't have time to get into that, said the US editor.
The anchor then asked why the magazine reprinted the false allegation that Palin belonged to the Alaska Independence Party. He didn't respond to that directly but instead dodged the question.
They didn't have time to get into it?

Kind of odd isn't it. In NJ if a state trooper uses his weapon there's an automatic grand jury investigation. Needless to say, convictions for assault, domestic violence and terroristic threats are grounds for automatic dismissal.
If the above was true, why would the governor have to be pulling strings on behalf of her family member?
Also what does this have to do with sexism? Are you saying if Palin was a man the reporting on troopergate would have been of higher quality by US magazine?
At best it was shoddy journalism, but I don't give them that much credit. I won't be buying their magazine any time soon.
Thanks for your work highlighting these smears!
The taser allegation was substantiated by the trooper's superiors and he was disciplined.
