AP: Palin struggles, but we're objective

Supposedly objective headline in the Associated Press:
Sarah Palin tries to defend qualifications, struggles with foreign policy questions
The questions they thought she struggled over?
FORT WAINWRIGHT, Alaska (AP) -- John McCain running mate Sarah Palin sought Thursday to defend her qualifications but struggled with foreign policy, unable to describe President Bush's doctrine of pre-emptive strikes against threatening nations and acknowledging she's never met a foreign head of state.
For one, she did respond to the Charlie Gibson "Bush doctrine" question. She did describe the doctrine and give her take on it. Yes, she asked Gibson to define what he meant by it first. So what? I would have done the same thing. Many people would define a phrase like the "Bush doctrine" many different ways. The media probably define it differently than conservatives do, for example. I'd want to know Gibson's exact definition before committing to a response about it too. After all, it revolves around how you define "threatening nations", does it not?
